Archival digital print of a Selene vomer.
“This print is part of my fauna series that focuses on ocean life, in particular fish and creatures that live on the worlds reefs. I’ve had an interest in reefs since I was young, the first time I was able to see a reef in person was in the Cayman Islands when I was ten. The experience of diving in the open ocean and floating over massive elk horn coral formations was scary and exciting. Being surrounded by schools of reef fish, seeing manta rays swim by, and being chased by an angry crab, all these memories are vivid and helped to form my love of the ocean. Each print in the fauna series carries a dual purpose. They highlight the beauty found in the ocean, while also offering a decorative print for those not completely captivated by ocean life.” – Jonathan Hale
